(BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman joined the opening ceremony of Bangladesh Solar Expo-2026 in the city this morning as the chief guest.

The inaugural ceremony began at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital, said Prime Minister`s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.

The Power Division and the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) jointly organised the expo for the first time with the theme "Utilise Every Inch of Rooftop, Increase Income through Solar Power".

Chaired by Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, it was also joined by State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder and Power Division Secretary Mirana Mahrukh.

Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and senior government officials from different ministries also attended the programme.
