  22, July, 2026, 11:12:57:AM

(BSS) – Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today urged teachers to educate students with care and responsibility by considering them as their own children.

"Students have to be nurtured with moral values. For this, the Prime Minister has emphasised family values, religious values and others," he said.

The minister made the remarks as the chief guest at a view exchanging meeting on the responsibilities of officials for ensuring quality primary education at the PTI auditorium in Mirpur here.

He said the government is working sincerely for the development of primary education and called upon teachers, guardians and education officials to work together for improving the sector.

The minister stressed the need for advanced training to enhance teachers` skills and said young people should be encouraged to stay away from mobile phone and drug addiction through joyful learning and sports.

He said preparations are underway to organise the Prime Minister`s Gold Cup football competition across the country, which is expected to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister from Chattogram on August 9.

Dr Milon said the government will provide free school uniforms to attract children to schools and is implementing programmes including mid-day meals.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj, ministry Secretary Md. Sakhawat Hossain and Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Shaheena Ferdousi, among others, attended the programme.
