Guinean Prime Minister Sees Greater Scope for Bilateral Cooperation During China Visit
  29, June, 2026, 7:54:10:PM

International: Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah has expressed optimism about deepening bilateral ties with China, describing the country as a model of development for the developing world. He made the remarks in an exclusive interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), a subsidiary of China Media Group (CMG), during his recent visit to Beijing.

The visit marked Prime Minister Bah’s first official trip to China, where he also attended the Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum, commonly known as the Summer Davos Forum.

In the interview, Bah said China has emerged as a global model of development over the past four decades, demonstrating how a nation can overcome poverty and underdevelopment to become a leading force on the international stage.

“We hope to learn from China’s experience,” he said, adding that global leaders must work together to shape the future course of development.

The prime minister noted that Guinea has benefited significantly from cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). He expressed hope that his visit would further strengthen bilateral relations and open up new opportunities for cooperation. He also said Guinea looks forward to benefiting from the various global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Highlighting agricultural cooperation, Bah recalled the launch of the Koba Agricultural Production Project in April last year. He said Guinea had introduced high-yield rice varieties developed by the late Chinese agricultural scientist Yuan Longping, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. According to the prime minister, China’s willingness to share the outcomes of its scientific research enables developing countries with the greatest need for such technologies to benefit from them.

Bah also emphasized the vast potential of the Chinese market, saying both countries would review the full range of goods traded between them to identify new areas of cooperation and achieve greater mutual benefit.
