Budget session begins

The first budget session of the 13th parliament began on Sunday with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram in the chair.

A condolence motion was adopted in the House, expressing grief at the death of 16 former ministers and MPs including Tofail Ahmed as well as noted educationist Prof Dilara Hafiz (the Speaker’s wife), eight-year-old Ramisa Akter, who was raped and murdered and some other noted personalities.
