International Desk: At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan arrived in Beijing on the afternoon of May 11 (Monday), marking the beginning of his four-day state visit to China.

Relations between China and Tajikistan are currently at their strongest point in history. The two heads of state have maintained close communication and strategic dialogue, fostering deep mutual trust and a strong bond of friendship. Under their strategic guidance, the China–Tajikistan comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era has continued to develop steadily across all sectors, reaching new heights and maintaining strong momentum.

Political mutual trust between the two countries has been elevated to a new level, trade growth has continued steadily, international coordination has proven effective, and people-to-people exchanges have further strengthened—together shaping a truly comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.

President Emomali Rahmon has visited China 22 times to date. His most recent visit took place from late August to early September 2025, during which he attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit as well as commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
