Kamrul Hasan: A doa and iftar mahfil was held in Manikganj seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Huron Nahar Rashid, the beloved mother of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister and Member of Parliament for Manikganj-3, Afroza Khanam Rita.

The event was organized on Tuesday (March 17) in the afternoon at West Sewta Jame Mosque in the district. The program was arranged at the initiative of Maulana Harunur Rashid Rahmani, President of Manikganj District BNP (Saudi Arabia chapter).
The late Huron Nahar Rashid was the spouse of former minister and eminent industrialist, the late Harunar Rashid Khan Monno MP, who was also the founding chairman of Monno Group.

Among those present were Gholam Abedin Qaiser, member of the district BNP convening committee; Mostafizur Rahman Prince, joint convener of district Jubo Dal; Mohammad Abdul Karim, former youth affairs secretary of Shibalaya Upazila BNP; Md. Mahidur Rahman, former assistant publicity secretary of district Jubo Dal; and Shipu Raihan, former senior vice-president of district Chhatra Dal. Leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, local dignitaries, business representatives, and residents also attended the event.
At the end of the mahfil, the munajat was conducted by Maulana Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Pesh Imam of West Sewta Jame Mosque.
Special prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for Huron Nahar Rashid, as well as for martyred President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, Arafat Rahman Koko, and former minister the late Harunar Rashid Khan Monno MP.

Prayers were also offered for the good health and long life of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. In addition, special prayers were made for the good health and longevity of Aviation Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, and for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the country.
