Zero Tolerance” Against Corruption and Efforts to Ease Expat Hardships: Harunur Rashid Congratulates Aviation Minister
  13, March, 2026, 6:44:58:PM

Kamrul Hasan Maulana Harunur Rashid Rahmani, President of the Manikganj District BNP in Saudi Arabia, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita MP for announcing effective measures to reform airport services, plan the third terminal, and curb harassment of Hajj pilgrims—initiatives aimed at alleviating the long-standing hardships faced by expatriates. In an exclusive interview with The daily world report on Thursday (12 March), Maulana Harunur Rashid stated that if the government’s recent initiatives are implemented, the service standards at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, one of the country’s main gateways, will see a visible improvement. He said, “The difficulties faced by remittance earners at the airport have been a long-standing issue. Following the aviation minister’s meetings with relevant officials and her inspection of the airport, the directive to prevent passenger harassment has paved the way to realize the long-cherished expectations of expatriates.” Maulana Harunur Rashid further emphasized that expatriates are a key driving force of the country’s economy, and ensuring their respect and safety is the responsibility of the state. “The government’s firm stance on transparency, accountability, and service improvement at the airport sends a positive message to expatriates,” he added. The BNP leader expressed confidence that the aviation minister’s message on implementing infrastructure development projects with efficiency, transparency, and accountability will inject new momentum into development activities in Manikganj and other regions. “If the declared zero-tolerance policy against negligence, corruption, and arbitrariness is enforced, it will strengthen the continuity of development,” he said. He also noted that on Sunday (8 March), during meetings at the Manikganj Deputy Commissioner’s conference room and with officials of Sadar and Saturia Upazilas, the aviation minister conveyed a strict message that no irregularities or corruption will be tolerated in development activities—underscoring the government’s commitment to accountability and good governance. According to Maulana Harunur Rashid, such initiatives to ensure administrative accountability and maintain transparency in development projects will strengthen the country’s overall development framework. “Any effective measure that advances state development and safeguards the dignity of expatriates is a positive step. If these initiatives are implemented, they will bring significant improvements to the nation’s economy and administrative systems,” he said. He highlighted the timely importance of measures to ease expatriate hardships, improve airport services, and ensure strict oversight of local development projects, urging all concerned parties to sincerely support their implementation. Finally, Maulana Harunur Rashid prayed for the departed souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Arfat Rahman Koko, and the late former minister Harunar Rashid Khan Monnu MP, as well as the compassionate mother of Aviation Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, Huron Nahar Rashid. He also extended prayers for the good health and long life of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, and for the well-being and longevity of Aviation Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, while invoking blessings for the nation’s welfare.
