Kamrul Hasan: A Doa and Iftar Mahfil was held seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Huron Nahar Rashid, the beloved mother of Afroza Khanam Rita, MP, the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism and Member of Parliament from Manikganj-3 constituency. The late Huron Nahar Rashid was the wife of the late minister and prominent industrialist Harunar Rashid Khan Monno, founder chairman of the Monno Group.

The Doa and Iftar Mahfil was organized on Monday (March 9) in the afternoon at a residence in the Paschim Seota area of Manikganj, arranged by Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Murad, former Agricultural Affairs Secretary of the district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.

Among those present at the event were Rafik Uddin Bhuiyan Habu, former organizing secretary of the district BNP and member of the district BNP convening committee; Faridur Islam Niloy, senior joint convener of the district Krishak Dal;

Ziaul Haque Shawon, joint convener of district JASAS; Saiful Islam Sabur, former assistant general secretary of the district Chhatra Dal; Saidul Islam Nayan, former organizing secretary of the city unit of Swechchhasebak Dal; Rashed Manna Rony, member of the city Jubo Dal convening committee; Md. Rubel Molla, joint general secretary of Shibaloy Upazila Krishak Dal, along with leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies.

After the Doa and Iftar Mahfil, the munajat (special prayer) was conducted by Saidur Rahman Sujon, student affairs secretary of the city BNP. During the prayer, supplications were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Huron Nahar Rashid. Prayers were also offered for the late President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, Arafat Rahman Koko, and the late Member of Parliament Harunar Rashid Khan Monno.

Special prayers were also offered seeking good health and long life for Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the BNP and Prime Minister, as well as for the good health and longevity of Aviation Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, MP, and for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the country.
