| Police arrested four individuals, including two women, with 16 kilograms of cannabis in a special operation at Akhaura upazila in Brahmanbaria.
The arrest was made on Monday night (September 29) based on a tip-off. Police carried out the operation in front of the staff quarters at Gangasagar Railway Station and detained the suspects.
The arrestees have been identified as Mousumi Akter, 26, Rumana Akter, 25, Md. Moynal Haque, 40, Md. Masud Miah, 42.
Following the arrest, police seized 16 kilograms of cannabis from their possessions.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Akhaura Police Station, Shamiuddin, said that legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused. The suspects, along with the seized evidence, have been sent to court.
