A youth died after being mob-lynched at Singra upazila in Natore district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Akram Hossain, 18, son of late Yunus Ali of Singra municipality’s Parsingra area.

According to locals, Akram was beaten at Patkel cattle market, accused of theft and injured seriously.

Later, locals rescued and took him to Singra Upazila Health Complex where he died while undergoing treatment.

Singra Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Rafikul Islam confirmed the incident.
