Ajay Devgn’s upcoming comedy Son of Sardaar 2, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, has shifted its release date from July 25 to August 1, 2025, the makers announced on social media earlier today.
With this new date, the film is now set for a box office clash with Dhadak 2, featuring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, which is also slated for an August 1 release.
Sharing the announcement, the makers posted, “Jassi Paaji and toli will see you in cinemas worldwide on 1st August 2025.”
Meanwhile, Param Sundari, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, which was also initially set for July 25, has been postponed to August. A revised teaser released alongside Maalik, the Rajkummar Rao–Manushi Chhillar starrer, confirmed the shift, replacing “This July” with “This August” in its final frame.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son of Sardaar 2 is a vibrant mix of action and comedy set against a colorful Punjabi backdrop, with large portions filmed in Scotland. The film is also notable for featuring the final screen appearance of Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23, 2025.
The ensemble cast includes Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Panday, Neeru Bajwa, and others. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of Jio Studios and Devgn Films.
