Unidentified miscreants set fire to a parked bus belonging to Srabon Paribahan near Matuail Hospital under Kadamtali Police Station in the capital on Monday night (November 2).

Sub-Inspector (SI) Hasan Rahman of Kadamtali Police Station confirmed the incident to reporters, stating that police received news of the fire around 11:40 PM and dispatched a team to the spot, where they found the vehicle completely engulfed and gutted by flames.

According to the bus driver and helper, they had parked the vehicle at approximately 11:20 PM and stepped away to have dinner. Upon returning, they discovered the bus ablaze.

Law enforcement officers stated that the identity of the perpetrators and the exact motive behind the arson could not be immediately determined, adding that an investigation is currently underway to identify those involved.
