  02-11-2026

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of the Sultanate of Oman at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday morning (November 2).

President Xi highlighted that China and Oman enjoy a long-standing friendship built upon solid foundations and bright prospects. The two nations have consistently nurtured relations grounded in mutual trust, sincere engagement, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to fairness and justice. Enduring for over a millennium, the traditional friendship between China and Oman has stood the test of time. In recent years, bilateral political mutual trust has steadily deepened, mutually beneficial cooperation has yielded substantial fruits, and historical bonds have become ever more deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples.

Xi noted that consolidating and deepening China-Oman relations is a joint strategic choice aligned with the trends of the times and the broader course of history, corresponding with the shared aspirations of the two peoples. China stands ready to work with Oman to elevate the China-Oman strategic partnership to greater heights, deliver tangible benefits to both nations, and contribute constructively to regional peace, stability, and enduring prosperity.

Xi underscored that this historic engagement marks the first visit to China by an Omani Sultan in the 48-year history of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He expressed confidence that the visit will stand as a milestone in the annals of bilateral ties, injecting powerful momentum into their comprehensive development.

He further noted that China and Oman must enhance political mutual trust and deepen exchanges on state governance. China resolutely supports Oman in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as in independently exploring a development path tailored to its national conditions, and remains eager to extend mutual support on core interests. Both sides must broaden pragmatic cooperation and continuously consolidate the foundation of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Xi emphasized that China is vigorously advancing high-quality development and expanding high-standard opening-up, which will unlock broader opportunities for Oman and nations worldwide. China is prepared to deepen alignment with Oman’s development strategies, serving as a dependable energy partner, a prospective investment partner, and an advanced high-tech partner in coordinated innovation. China is ready to diversify energy cooperation; deepen engagement across industry, investment, artificial intelligence, science and technology, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges; and join hands with Oman along the path toward modernization and national rejuvenation.

Following the talks, the two heads of state witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation agreements spanning industrial and supply chains, green development, digital finance, and other priority sectors.

During the visit, both nations jointly released the "Joint Statement Between the People`s Republic of China and the Sultanate of Oman on Deepening the Strategic Partnership."
