Train services between Dhaka and northern Bangladesh were suspended on Thursday morning after a train of `Nilsagar Express` derailed at Mahedra in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail.

The derailment occurred at around 9:30AM, leaving several trains stranded at different railway stations and causing disruption for passengers travelling across the region.

Sohel Rana, station master at Mahedra Railway Station in Mirzapur, confirmed the incident.

Further details about the cause of the derailment, possible casualties and the timeline for resuming train services were not immediately available.
