State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain will announce his resignation at a press conference at the National Press Club in Dhaka at 2:00pm on Monday.

In a post on his verified Facebook page on Monday morning, Ishraque wrote, ‘I will make the final announcement of my resignation from the post of state minister for liberation war affairs at the National Press Club at 2:00pm today and face journalists, Insha’Allah.’

‘I saw some people on Facebook celebrating the news. I hope that if there is a need for a movement in the future, they will return from abroad, inspired by nationalist ideals, and join it,’ he wrote.

‘This time, instead of working as a lawmaker or state minister, I will work against drugs with a hundred times more enthusiasm as a BNP worker, Insha’Allah. The cleanliness campaign will also be intensified,’ he added.

‘I will be able to visit different districts across the country to strengthen the organisational base of Projonmo Dal. Not minister, but drug eradication! Drug eradication, drug eradication!’ he wrote.
