Eight more people died with measles-like symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Saturday, October 10, as the contagious disease shows no sign of easing.

With this, the number of suspected measles deaths rose to 1,051, while the tally of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths remained unchanged at 104, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the period, DGHS recorded an additional 955 suspected measles cases and 131 confirmed cases, bringing the totals to 203,848 and 22,328, respectively, from March 15 to date.

The health directorate said it has been recording measles-related data since March 15.
