| International: China’s environmentally friendly power generation continues to grow. Under its dual-carbon development goals, China has further deepened the transformation and modernisation of the thermal power industry and achieved systematic progress in areas such as clean energy integration and effective regulation. The supporting and regulating role of thermal power plants in the new power system is becoming increasingly evident, providing a strong guarantee for the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy sector.
According to the latest statistics from the China Electricity Council, by the end of 2025, the country’s installed biomass power generation capacity had reached 47.43 million kilowatts, accounting for 1.2 percent of the total installed capacity. National biomass power generation stood at approximately 225 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 2.1 percent of total electricity generation.
