  Director of Darul Ihsan University, Mahmud, in Hiding Amid Death Threat Fears

Staff Reporter : To validate the certificates of students who graduated from the 29 campuses of Darul Ihsan University—the country’s first private university, which has been shut down—numerous official letters were issued by the government both before and after its closure in favor of Mahmoud Ahmed, the director of those 29 campuses.

Sources indicate that four allegedly illegal groups, which operated unauthorized campuses, attempted to take control of the university. These groups reportedly used political influence to create various obstacles. As a result, Mahmoud Ahmed was unable to resume operations at the 29 legally operated campuses under his supervision.

Mahmoud Ahmed continued efforts to reopen these 29 legitimate campuses until April 2025. However, it is alleged that the four illegal groups, using political backing, issued various threats against him. Consequently, Mahmoud Ahmed is reportedly in hiding.

Due to his absence and lack of communication with different government departments, the academic future of the university’s students has become uncertain and stalled. University sources claim that supporters of the four illegal groups may attempt to harm Mahmoud Ahmed if his whereabouts become known. Allegations have also been made that these four groups.
