International: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a courtesy meeting with Thailand’s Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in Beijing on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Wang Yi noted that last year Chinese President Xi Jinping and Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn reached important consensus on building a China–Thailand community with a shared future. He said this has provided strategic guidance for further deepening bilateral relations.

Describing Princess Sirindhorn as an old and close friend of the Chinese people, Wang said she has been a firsthand witness to China’s reform, opening-up, and modernization drive. He also highlighted her significant contributions to strengthening China–Thailand friendship.

Wang added that, based on the consensus reached by the two countries’ top leaders, China is willing to carry forward its traditional friendship with Thailand and expand cooperation, particularly in high technology, education, and people’s livelihood sectors.

For her part, Princess Sirindhorn praised China’s support and emphasized the need to further enhance exchanges and communication between the two countries. She called for strengthening practical cooperation in various fields, including science and technology, agriculture, healthcare, culture, and education.
