  Bangladesh-Iran bilateral relations can be further strengthened: Iranian Ambassador

MM Rahmatullah: His Excellency Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, Newly Appointed Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh has reaffirmed his country`s commitment to strengthening friendly relations with Bangladesh, emphasizing the two nations` shared cultural affinities and economic potential.
In a speech at an event marking Iran`s National Day on Monday at the Hotel Sheraton Dhaka, the ambassador highlighted the long-standing cordial relations between Iran and Bangladesh, built on mutual respect and shared interests. He noted that Bangladesh is not only an important bilateral partner but also a key player in South Asia and the Islamic world.
The ambassador emphasized Iran`s focus on economic diplomacy, citing opportunities for cooperation in trade, energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and technology. He expressed Iran`s readiness to share its expertise and experiences with Bangladesh, promoting win-win cooperation.
Despite facing unjust pressures and sanctions, Iran has achieved significant progress in defense, science, technology, and industry, the Ambassador said, underscoring the nation`s resilience and self-reliance.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Bangladesh`s shipping ministry adviser, ambassadors, and Islamic scholars. The ambassador concluded by expressing confidence that Iran and Bangladesh can build a brighter future together, reaffirming Iran`s commitment to strengthening ties with Bangladesh.
