  1, August, 2026, 2:19:9:AM

Business Correspondent: A new chapter in Pakistan-Bangladesh economic engagement opened in the capital on Thursday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between MG JW Automobile Pakistan and Bangladesh’s RANCON Group for the export of vehicles to the Bangladeshi market.

According to details shared by the Pakistan High Commission, the agreement will see 100 Pakistani-manufactured vehicles arrive in Bangladesh within this year. Over the next four years, the total number of exports is expected to reach 5,800 units.

Officials said the partnership is designed to expand consumer options, encourage healthy competition in the automobile sector and bring competitively priced, quality vehicles to Bangladeshi buyers. The deal is also being viewed as a step toward deeper business-to-business collaboration and stronger trade linkages between the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, RANCON Group Executive Director Muhammad Mostafizur Rashid Bhuiyan said the agreement would provide Bangladeshi consumers access to high-quality vehicles made in Pakistan while adding new momentum to the local auto market.

Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production of Pakistan, welcomed the accord and expressed hope that such initiatives would help strengthen economic relations and open fresh avenues for private sector cooperation.

Senior officials from both companies, representatives of the government and members of the business community were present at the signing event in Pakistan.
