Desk Desk: Khilafat Majlis has announced a 36-day program to observe the 2nd anniversary of the July-August 2024 mass uprising of students and citizens, which led to the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s “fascist regime.” The campaign will run from July 1 to August 5, 2024.

In a circular signed on June 24, Secretary General of Khilafat Majlis Dr. Ahmad Abdul Qader directed all party branches to observe the program.

Prayers for the forgiveness of the martyrs of the uprising, visiting the injured and extending possible assistance, exchange of views, public outreach, rallies and processions demanding speedy trials of the ousted fascist government and its associates and implementation of the July National Charter, wall magazine publications and video screenings on the movement, tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and blood donation programs. 

To mark the opening day on July 1, Dhaka Metropolitan South will hold a leaflet distribution program after Asr prayers starting from the North Gate of Baitul Mukarram. Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Qader is scheduled to attend.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan North will organize a visit to the grave of martyr Jaber Ibrahim in Uttara after Fajr prayers on July 1. At 4:00 PM, it will hold a grave visit and prayer session at the grave of martyr Mir Mugdh. Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Ahmad Ali Kasemi will be present.

The party said extensive month-long programs have also been planned across all branches nationwide to commemorate the anniversary.
