| The government has revised retail fuel prices, increasing the rates of octane and petrol in line with the international market.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Saturday, the new prices will come into effect nationwide from April 19.
Under the revised rates, octane will be sold at Tk 140 per litre, up from Tk 120, while petrol has been increased to Tk 135 per litre from the previous Tk 116.
The price of diesel has been set at Tk 115 per litre, while kerosene will now be sold at Tk 130 per litre.
The ministry said the adjustment has been made to maintain parity with rising global fuel prices.
Officials noted that the previous prices stood at Tk 120 for octane, Tk 116 for petrol, Tk 100 for diesel and Tk 112 for kerosene per litre.
The latest revision is part of the government’s ongoing mechanism to align domestic fuel prices with fluctuations in the international energy market.
