No one will be spared for crimes: Culture Minister
  11, April, 2026, 9:21:37:PM

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury has declared a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, land grabbing and extortion, warning that no one will be spared if found guilty, regardless of political affiliation.

“Anyone involved in wrongdoing will face strict action. It does not matter which party they belong to, even members of our own party will not be exempt,” the minister said.

He made these remarks while addressing a prize-giving ceremony of annual sports, literary and cultural competitions at Aminur Rahman College in Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district on Saturday.

Emphasising discipline and transparency within organisations, the minister said firm measures would be taken to uphold accountability.

He also assured that government benefits, including the distribution of ‘family cards’, would be carried out without political bias.

“Those who voted for us and those who did not, everyone will receive the card. It will serve as a financial safety net for families, ensuring direct access to government support,” he said.

The minister further announced that initiatives to distribute ‘agriculture cards’ for farmers and ‘health cards’ for the underprivileged would be launched soon.

The event was presided over by Tanvir Rahman Sohel, president of the college’s governing body. Acting principal Mizanur Rahman, former principal Matiur Rahman and founder Mizanur Rahman Kabul, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

The programme concluded with a reception for the minister and a cultural performance organised by the college.
