| A Bangladeshi national has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, according to Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut.
The deceased was identified as Dipali, daughter of Sheikh Mofazzal and Rozina Khatun from Char Shalepur village in Charbhadrasan upazila of Faridpur district. She had been working in Lebanon and was staying with her employer’s family at Hamra area when the airstrike occurred on April 8.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut expressed deep sorrow over her death and extended condolences to her grieving family.
Preliminary information suggests that Dipali’s employer and several members of the employer’s family were also killed in the same attack, according to reports from a neighbour.
Local police sources said her body has been kept at Rafik Hariri Hospital morgue in Beirut.
The embassy said it is in contact with relevant authorities to confirm further details regarding the incident and the repatriation process.
