| International: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Wednesday (April 8), at a regular press briefing in Beijing, shared details regarding the upcoming visit of Wang Yi—Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and China’s Foreign Minister—to North Korea. The visit is seen as an important step toward implementing the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, and in advancing bilateral relations.
Mao noted that, at the invitation of North Korea’s Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi will pay an official visit to the country on April 9 and 10.
She further stated that China and North Korea are traditional friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. Maintaining, consolidating, and developing China–North Korea relations remains a consistent strategic policy of both the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.
